How long have you been playing?
I started in ‘86, very underground. It was in 1991 that I started to release cassettes, and make posters, a photocopy ‘zine, and stickers. And I had my first concert in 1992.

What’s the difference between your concert in ‘92 and the one today?
The idea is the same but the technical and musical elements are different. For example I have started to use a motto in my work: “NO TURISTIK, NO EGZOTIK”.

You’ve lived all your life in Istanbul?
Yes.

How long will you been in New York?
I arrived three days ago for my tour, first I played at WFMU, you can listen to the recording on the station maybe around The 4th of July, then I am off on a West coast tour to 8 or 7 cities.

Who are you touring with?
Water Sports with Russ Waterhouse (White Tapes).

Have you ever played outdoors before?
Not too often, but I like it. Tomorrow I will play at Open Air [see KEIKO ARTICLE] I will play my cut-up videos. I am trying to mix video and music.
