White Magic, how did you come up with that name?
Andy: The three of us thought of it at the same time. We were thinking we wanted it to be magic but everything magic sounded corny. We were all thinking positive magicand then we happened to all say “White Magic” at the same time. We were all like “Wow -that’s got to be it!” Then we step into a triangle and…

Does anyone in the band practice White Magic?
Andy: I think all three of us do in our own special way.

My grandmother used to practice it, mostly to defend against black magic.
Andy: there is so much negativity. I definitely have a mantra that I say:

“Righteous energy
Positive energy
White light just like me.”

Andy: That’s something I like to say over and over and over again in weird times. I never decided I’m gonna say this -it just felt right-saying righteous energy I’m your dog so like take care of me right now. And it’s kinda worked, that's the freaky thing about it. So now we have to spread the positivity, cause there is so much negativity.

Is that something you guys do right before the show?
Andy: Usually we just kiss each other and say white light. As long as we say "white light". (laughing)
There is a lot of negative energy and especially if you are someone preaching positive thing. You're gonna be a magnet for negative things. It’s the natural ying-yang system of things. So we have to be extra positive.

That’s cool. It's good to have some positive bands.
Andy: It's really important.

Do you thing Blood on the Wall is positive?
Andy: I think they are positive.

Despite the Blood on the Wall?
Andy: Despite the Blood on the Wall. They like drugs and it’s some sort of drug reference. But they’re totally positive.

How long did it take you to record that album?
Andy: It’s been in the works for a while.
Mira: About a month and a half.
Andy: 2 months. We put a lot of time into it.
Mira: We put a lot of time into mixing.

You had alot of energy?
Andy: Yeah. We pretty much did it live and then we added to it. We worked with a pretty heavy producer that pushed us and made us do things we weren’t really thinking of doing.
Mira:
He is a serious guy. He knows what he’s doing.
Andy: It’s like his ears are golden. He’ll spend about 20 hours just mixing one song or he’ll spend 3 hours making sure the drums sound right.

By the way, have you played outdoors before?
Andy: No this is our first time.
